Headouph Engineering offers metal sandblasting to help prepare metals for finishing. Sandblasting can improve the quality of the surface prior to gold, silver, copper, bright nickel, or electroless nickel plating. Instead of using chemicals sandblasting uses high-pressure air to pull an abrasive media through an air gun to shoot it at the metal surface. The abrasive media makes hard surfaces, such as metals, smoother, deburred, textured, and stress relieved. Sandblasting can especially be necessary when a part is rusted or previously painted. Removing rust and paint with sandblasting produces a superior clean surface for metal finishing such as gold plating.
